What is Eyebrow Microblading?

Eyebrow microblading is a semi-permanent technique for enhancing the appearance of the eyebrows, in which pigment is scratched into the skin in fine, short strokes resembling hair, using a hand tool with a blade formed by tiny needles. The needles finely implant featherweight strokes with a medical grade pigment into the epidermis layer of the skin, creating fine, realistic, and natural-looking hair strokes.

Who should consider Microblading?

Microblading is a great option for clients whose eyebrows are thinning or they just want a fuller, thicker look without the everyday ritual of penciling them in. Our eyebrow microblading services will help you achieve fuller, natural-looking eyebrows without the everyday hassle.

Microblading vs. Traditional Tattooing

Traditional Tattoos

  • Utilizes machines with needles that penetrate deep into the dermis layers.
  • Uses highly concentrated, heavy ink formulas.
  • Permanent, lasting a lifetime (though can fade and change colors over decades).

Microblading

  • Delicately implants pigment onto the epidermis layer (similar to a paper cut).
  • Uses medical-grade, less concentrated, specialized cosmetic pigments.
  • Semi-permanent, fading naturally within 12-18 months.

What to Expect During Your Session

After the treatment area is sanitized and numbed, we will consult with you on the eyebrow shape that will work best for you. We typically follow the natural direction of your brow hairs and take facial symmetry and age into consideration in order to create a truly natural-looking brow. We will also consult with you to determine the best pigment to use based on the natural color of your eyebrow hairs and the undertone of your skin.

Mapping & Guidelines (30 - 40 minutes): We begin by meticulously drawing the guidelines to follow during the microblading strokes.

Aftercare Application: Once completed, we apply a soothing aftercare ointment to help promote healing.

Perfecting Touch-Up: We schedule a follow-up appointment within 6-8 weeks of your initial procedure to touch up and perfect your brows.

The Healing Cycle & Aftercare

Your new temporary eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle:

Phase 01Immediate Look

Pigment appears very sharp, dark, and defined. It sits on top of your skin and has not yet settled in.

Phase 021 - 2 Weeks

Color will fade, shrink 30-50%, soften, and settle into a highly natural-looking eyebrow tone.

Phase 03Healing & Flaking

Skin begins to heal and look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. This is natural exfoliation, not color loss.

Phase 046 - 8 Weeks Touch-Up

We schedule a follow-up session (included) to fill in any gaps or lighter areas to finalize results.

Sun Protection: Once completely healed, always apply a layer of sunscreen (SPF 30-50) on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun. Sun exposure will cause color pigment to fade quickly.

How long does Eyebrow Microblading last?

Generally, the results of Eyebrow Microblading last 12-18 months, but the longevity of the pigment will depend on your skin type. Usually within 1-2 weeks the color will fade and shrink 30-50%, soften, and look more natural.

We include a touch-up session that is scheduled 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure to fill in any gaps and/or lighter areas and to ensure that your eyebrows look fabulous for the remainder of the year. Because the pigment is semi-permanent, it does fade over time. We recommend annual touch-ups to achieve and maintain the desired effect.
